An innovative surgical medical device for spreading wounds
The Skin-Elast-Hook is a special medical instrument used in surgery to spread wounds. Its unique design combines a retractor with a flexible silicone spring that gently but securely holds back the tissue. This gives the surgeon optimum access to the surgical field.
Function and intended use
- The Skin-Elast-Hook is used to securely hold back tissue such as skin, connective tissue and muscles during an operation.
- It is used in particular for surgical procedures where uniform retraction of the tissue is necessary to give the operating team a clear view of the surgical site.
- The retractors are available in different sizes and with different silicone springs to ensure optimum tension depending on the surgical requirements.
Material and structure
- Hooks: Made of high-quality medical stainless steel, with rounded conical tips for secure and gentle fixation in the tissue.
- Silicone spring: Elastic, hard-wearing material that exerts a gentle but constant pull on the fabric.
- Fixation: The silicone spring can be flexibly attached to operating tables or drapes, e.g. with a Backhaus clamp.
